Lovelace Hopkins 24" Dark Sheesham Peca Nightstand

Lovelace is named after Ada Lovelace, the mathematician who saw the potential in machines long before anyone else did. We thought about that kind of foresight when designing this nightstand, a piece that anticipates what you need before you reach for it.

The entire body is Peca Sheesham, finished in a deep, almost espresso tone that absorbs light and gives the piece a quiet, serious presence. The two drawers are handleless from the front, relying on recessed finger grooves cut into the top edge of each drawer face. It is a detail borrowed from Japanese cabinetry, where the hand teaches you how to use the piece.

The Black Powder Coat Mild Steel handle is concealed, minimal, and functional. The splayed legs angle outward at a mid century pitch, lifting the box off the ground just enough to create a sense of lightness beneath something visually heavy.

At 24" x 18", Lovelace is wider than most nightstands, which means it can double as a small side table in a living room or a display surface in a study. It was designed to be more useful than it looks, which is exactly what Ada would have wanted.
