Decker started with a question about proportions. Most benches are designed to sit on. Decker was designed to sink into. We wanted a piece that felt closer to a daybed than a bench, something with enough depth and cushion to change the way you use it.
The seat is a single, generous volume of Turkish Jute upholstery wrapped around a thick foam core. The fabric has a natural, woven quality that softens the overall shape and gives the piece a warmth that synthetic materials struggle to match. The edges are rounded and pillow like, with no sharp corners or visible seams breaking the flow.
The Black Powder Coat Mild Steel base sits low and recessed, almost disappearing beneath the cushion. From a distance, the seat appears to float. Up close, the slim steel legs and connecting rails reveal themselves as a precise, engineered frame that carries a surprising amount of visual weight with very little material.
At 60" wide and with a seat height of just 17", Decker is the bench equivalent of a deep exhale. It asks you to slow down.
Custom finishes or minor dimensional adjustments may be explored based on feasibility. Please reach out to us on WhatsApp for more details.
