Mela Zibek 53" Fully Upholstered Splendor Blue Bench

Mela began with a rule: no visible frame. No legs peeking out from beneath the seat. No metal brackets, no wood feet, no material change from top to bottom. Just fabric, all the way down.

The entire structure is D'Decor Splendor Blue Ply & Foam Upholstery, wrapped continuously over the seat, down the waterfall ends, and around the legs themselves. The front legs are formed by the fabric curving downward from the seat in a smooth, unbroken arc. The rear legs are squared columns, also fully upholstered, creating a visual rhythm of curves at the front and geometry at the back.

The blue is soft and chalky, closer to a winter sky than a navy. It has a suede like hand feel with a subtle mottled texture that keeps the surface from reading as flat or synthetic. In person, the colour shifts slightly depending on the direction of the nap, lighter where the fabric is brushed forward, deeper where it is brushed back.

The waterfall profile is the signature detail. Where most benches end abruptly at the sides with a flat face or a visible rail, Mela curves over and downward in a single continuous gesture. The result is a shape that looks poured rather than built, as if someone took a soft material and draped it over an invisible form and it simply held.

At 53" x 14.5" with a 19" seat height, Zibek is narrow and upright. The slim 14.5" depth makes it ideal for hallways, entryways, and tight spaces where a deeper bench would block the path. It sits against a wall like it was always meant to be there.
