Jared Fynn 66" Upholstered Metal Black PVD Matt Bench

Jared started with a height. Fifteen inches. That is unusually low for a bench, and it was the first decision we made. Everything else followed from it.

At 15", a bench stops being something you sit on casually and starts being something you settle into deliberately. Your knees rise slightly. Your posture relaxes. The room feels different from down there. We wanted to design around that shift in perspective, a piece that physically lowers you into a calmer state.

The entire body is Arezzo Sherwood Sr No 11 Ply & Foam Upholstery, wrapped in vertical channel stitching that runs from the top of the seat, over the rounded ends, and down to the base. The channels are not decorative. They control the way the foam compresses, creating individual ridges of support that distribute weight more evenly than a flat surface. The fabric itself is a soft, warm ivory with a fine weave that catches afternoon light the way linen curtains do.

The ends are fully rounded, with no flat termination. The upholstery curves over and downward like a loaf of freshly baked bread, giving the bench a continuous, sculptural silhouette that reads as a single volume rather than a seat on a frame.

The legs are Black PVD Stainless Steel 304 Matt, short, cylindrical, and tucked beneath the body. They are barely visible from most angles, which is the point. The bench appears to rest on the floor under its own weight, like something placed rather than propped up.

At 66" x 19", Fynn is long and lean. It sits beneath a window, at the foot of a bed, or along a living room wall with the kind of quiet presence that makes people want to slow down and stay.
