Most accent tables try to disappear. Akira was designed to do the opposite.

The idea started with a fascination for negative space. We kept coming back to those moments in old sci fi films where the set design felt more alive than the characters. Columns that looked like they were breathing. Surfaces that seemed to hover. There was a tension between weight and weightlessness that we wanted to bring into a real, functional object.

The antique grey mild steel structure is formed from a single material language. Every vertical element, every cutout, every curve on the base is hand finished, not machined. The patina is uneven on purpose. It picks up light differently depending on where you stand, giving the piece a shifting, almost cinematic quality.

At 17" x 17", Akira is compact enough to sit beside a sofa or an armchair without crowding the room, but sculptural enough to hold its own in an empty corner. It does not need context to make sense. It is the context.
